? What makes an event a basscenter?  Cedar Park holds 8500… does it not qualify?

It’s not a matter of venues qualifying or not for it to be a basscenter.
Basscenters happen less often then regular touring shows (and even festivals)
because they require a lot more work.  It’s a giant bassnectar production that
includes aid from the AmBASSadors (fans volunteering their time at BN shows
to excite the crowd/hand out water and basically provide any help to make the
      show run smoothly.
I’m pretty sure the last bass center was a capacity of 7000. It’s just a matter
of where the crew wants to hold the bass center at.

BE CAREFUL! This event will be held in Williamson County (NOT A PARTY FRIENDLY CITY, to put it lightly)… BASSHEADS BEWARE! The police in wilco is very corrupt and will most assuredly be waiting to sink their venomous teeth into any unaware partykids….
Let’s show these redneck yayhoos we can outsmart, outdrive, outdance, and outbass their entire police force!
SO, please keep it safe and make sure you drive and act proper, otherwise, sh*t will get bananas fo’ that ass…
Much LOVE! Big Ups! See you at the Show!

    • Zach James

So are we going to have problems smoking green inside?  Never been to ceder park but i dont like what you said. Hopefully we just have to be more careful outside of the venue.  This show is going to be NUTS.  I’m going to nectar’s Austin and Dallas shows, but maybe i should do Houston and Dallas instead.  Wanting to rage in Austin and don’t want to deal w/ Popo at all!

    • Dunwody

We are working on getting transportation from austin proper. Party bus action. Stay tuned.

      • Zach James

I’m listening closely.  Is this something that we could book through Bassnectar?  I need a bus/limo or something to pick approx 30 people up in Downtown Austin, bring us to the show and bring us back after – ideally in time to make it out on 6th st. that night.  Was going to book this myself, but if the Nectar team is working on some economies of scale that would be sick!!

And on that note is there a Basshead hotel by chance?  If not, there should be, IMO.  Man that’d be bad ass if everyone who is in town for the show could get a discount staying at a certain hotel in downtown Austin if they were attending the Bassnectar concert.  (w/ concert ticket as proof of purchase..)

        • S.I.N.S

As far as I know, the Bassnectar Crew is responsible for making the show delicious for everyone, they aren’t in control of hotel costs or renting out cars for people. That would take so much more work it would be insane, and already touring practically 24/7 they don’t need that. So I’d highly consider looking into it now because you’re going to have to do it. But you also have 4 months till the show so you’re ok for now.

          • http://www.bassnectar.net LORIN

            we try

i keep asking people to help organize cheap hotels and rides, but it ends up being SO MUCH work for people, and basically there is nobody to oversee it totally

if anyone feels like volunteering for the fam, it is always cool to see people pitch in and help people organize safe rides, safe places to stay, and awesome art to bring in!
            :)

            THANKS ALL

          • Austen Bailey

            Hey all,

After realizing the need for safe, sober and fun transportation out to Cedar Park Center, Bus to Show has answered the call!! Rides are definitely affordable and an absolute blast with live djs on board!!

In coordination with Polaris Presents, we will be organizing buses from both Austin and San Marcos to Cedar Park and to the Official Bassnectar After Party at the Parish.

Bus to Show works with The Basics Fund to provide health insurance for artists in addition to our greening efforts as well. Check out the link for the bus parties and the after party below, see you at the show!! Can’t wait for some nectar!!

hello, quick question- i bought my ticket for cedar park when they were presale, and looking at my email confirmation it does not state whether it’s GA bowl or floor (and on ticketmaster you get the option of either). i was wondering if presale tickets are automatically bowl??

is this going to be a halloween event? should we start looking for a halloween costume?

    • Anonymous

      yes!

      • EmmCeee

I need help thinking of some costume ideas. I want it to be somewhat bassnectar themed, what crazy ideas do you have Bassheads? Lorin what would make your day for you to see at your show Saturday?

        • Shasta Lee

some costumes i’ve worn to bassnectar shows…a light up fairy costume for the halloween show last year. but there was too much to the costume (wings, wand) which made it kinda hard to rage in so i ended up losing those pieces. so then i started wearing masquerade masks because there are some REALLY cool masks out there. especially around halloween time. you can get pretty creative with it and it’s simplee. the last two shows i wore a fuzzy bear hat that hung down and had spots for your hands. people really enjoy when you wear a costume, definitely generates a lot of conversations with new people. i wish everyone dressed up lol.
those are just some suggestions. :)

          • EmmCeee

Great suggestions Shasta Lee thanks! I forgot to mention, I am of the male gender, so needless to say the fairy costume is probably out of the picture.

As of now I am considering making a robot “bass” head modeled after a subwoofer, not that god awful LMFAO robot. And then completing it with a glow stick robot body.

My question is, are glow sticks allowed?

I hate the punks that throw them, I was at Nocturnal when you stopped your set because of that reason and I applaud you. I love the aesthetics of glow sticks, they are ornementation, not toys people. Come on.

          • Shasta Lee

I mean you could still be a fairy if you really wanted to ;)

& yes! that’s a sick idea. at a show i went to last year, a guy was wearing some type of box/robot head thing and it was the only way my friends &i could find our way through the crowd and back to eachother. he was a nice landmark (crowdmark?) lol.

and to answer your question, no.
http://www.bassnectar.net/2011/09/fall-tour-survival-guide/ - under things NOT to bring.
i totally understand that you enjoy the effect that the lights bring but you still get that effect WITHOUT being wasteful with battery powered toys/lights. :)
so for your costume idea, you could still deck yourself out in LED lights. there’s so many places on the internet. this is just one page i usually look at though. http://extremeglow.com/Merchant4/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=LEDALL

another idea for your costume could be to make a rage stick and make a mini version of the robot head you made for it and stick it at the top. and you could do LED wiring all around the pole. just a thought.

        • Anonymous

i just now realized this we in response to me, so i should be nice and answer

          BE A WHALLEEEEEEEEE
          i love whales
          get a whale mask
some gray, floppy clothes, and a gray tail fin

          best. costume. ever.

      • Strange1

Sweeettt bassnectar! are you going to free download them on the website?

        • http://www.bassnectar.net LORIN

my plan right now is just to make the music and play it, not preparing it for a release, or as an end product, just want to get it into a state of layers that I can weave into the sonic collage of my sets :)

          • Strange1

Of course, :) by the wayy, i appreciate that you aren’t so stuck up that you actually reply to peoples questions. That’s awesome on you.

      • Mason Flynt

you should make the event a all ages so i can go!

  • alimamaa

quick question- so i’m one who bought my ticket pre-sale via inticketing, and i’m a little confused about the email i received in regards to switching it up for austin music hall…the email says to bring my cedar park print at home ticket to trade, but mine is will call (not print at home)….can someone please help a sista out here?

    • alimamaa

Also, are you only going to be playing songs from Vava Voom? Or a variety of your previous albums?
