We’re ready to heat it up in the lead-up to Summer with our VAVA VOOM TOUR 2012. I am flying out to New Zealand & Australia this week for The Big Day Out Tour, then zooming home to finish up the next Bassnectar EP: VAVA VOOM!!!!!

Why is “will call” the only option!?!? That is stopping me from buying the tickets, because I already live an hour & half away from venue & don’t get home till 5pm because I work in D.C.!!! I’m really bummed out right now ’cause I don’t want miss the show waiting outside to pick-up my ticket.

usually doors aren’t even until about 7pm and will-call waits are typically very short or non existent

Even with most the tickets being will call you don’t think it will be bad? I’ve had horrible luck with will-call waits, so I’m timid to chance it. Plus, I don’t know the area, & have never been to the venue. Sorry if I sound whiny, but missed last years show due to PCSing, and we REALLY want to go this year.
Any bassheads that have been to the Richmond, VA venue have any advice, or anyone going?

these tickets are just advanced tickets, and yes, they are all will call.

however, the majority of the ticket allotment goes to large ticket vendors, like ticketmaster, and they usually offer delivery methods

regardless, typically will call waits are not very long and will def not keep you from seeing the show

I ALWAYS see you regardless of where you are playing in Chicago,or
anywhere Illinois, or even the surrounding states. I (along with all my
beatfreaks) have already bought our tickets, but now that I am aware
that the venue is Congress, I am deciding to sell my ticket because I told myself that I would NEVER go see another show at the congress because of what I saw at the last show I went to
see there (Flux)…Lorin I am a longtime die hard fan from the earliest
form of your work but I really hope you read this and just reconsider
your upcoming show at Congress..Long story short, there was a guy at
flux that was walking down towards the pit just to check it out, he was
walking along side the crowd on a little cement walkway that basically
leads to the gate that blocks off the stage.. This guy had a PROSTHETIC
leg and was kinda having a hard time walking because the floor was wet/slippery. It was obvious that he had a prosthetic leg
because he was wearing shorts and on top of that he was more or less
struggling to not slip and fall. The guy wasn’t fucked up or anything
like that, just a straight up normal guy having fun and was interested
in what the ‘pit’ scene looked like. Out of know where 3 security guys
come up from behind the guy (I just thought they were just going to the
backstage/gated area), one security guy screams ‘GET HIM OUT OF HERE
HE’S TOO FUCKED UP, HE CANT WALK’, so 1 out of the 3 security guards run
up from behind him and SHOVE him. I am not talking like a little
shove, I am talking about like a cop shoving a guy from behind who is
about to shoot someone shove. I was in complete awe. They were
screaming at the guy they just pushed 10 ft and fell to ‘GET THE FUCK
UP’ and this poor kid was like ‘WHAT THE HELL I CANNOT GET UP I HAVE A
PROSTHETIC LEG AND IT CAME OFF, WHAT DID I DO?!?!’. The security guard
shoved this kid so hard that his prosthetic leg detached and basically
slid down past the security gate that was right before the stage. The 2
security guys just stood there, the other security guy opened the gate,
grabbed the kids prosthetic leg , and fucking nonchalantly THREW the
leg at the kid (TO THE POINT WHERE it landed like 10 ft away from him
then bounced off the ground and then slid directly to the kid laying
there on the ground.). They stood there waiting for the kid to reattach
his prosthetic leg. When he struggled to stand up, the 2 security
guards picked him up by his arm pits and literally dragged the kid out
of Congress Theater. I am sorry Lorin but I am not going. This is my morality and I can handle going to go see my FAVORITE artist of all time,
but I mentally could not handle knowing that I just saw Congress
theater profit off of my favorite artist. This is just me, I am in no
way speaking for the majority, I am speaking for myself, this is my
MORALITY, my OPINION, and my DECISION. Just a little insight at what is perceived as ‘normal’ for those individuals who work/own/operate at the congress theater.

Some people can be pretty mean dude but I wouldn’t let that keep you from hearing the nectar. While I agree what security did to that kid was awful… but obviously Lorin isn’t to blame as he did not (and WOULDN’T!) do some crazy bunk like that. Don’t miss out on an insane show, but that’s just my advice.

Silver Wrapper As we previously stated the Congress has done things to make it a better place in 2012. If you behave there (moving forward) there should be no problems. The other venues that size in various parts of town are no more or less safe. We have a series of shows coming up there and starting with STS9 last weekend that seemed to go great for everyone, we are on the right track. There are only so many rooms in town to book shows of that size with that level of artists and the others make it impossible for promoters like us to work there. Prices would be OUTRAGEOUS if we had to use other rooms and then everyone would complain about that instead (or people would want to come and just not be able to afford it). Sometimes you just can’t win in our position because someone somewhere always has something to say. We obsess over these situations and care about our peeps cause it ain’t a party without the people. Trust us. Silver Wrapper has been part of the scene in this town for many years and we ALWAYS do our best to make it a better place to be and see live music cause we want to do it for a long long time. I went to the STS9 show in Chicago and the security there is STILL major assholes. The guys who do security at the Congress do security around town. At this one venue, these same security guards held a guy in a choke hold while others stomped his legs breaking both of them. This is the type of people that work at this piece of shit venue. If you go on the bassnectar facebook event page for chicago, there are tons of comments on how shit this venue is. The Congress Theatre is THE WORST VENUE I have ever been to in America, and I have been to a lot (the pageant in St. Louis #2). As a firm believer in karma, these gorilla security guards will get what they deserve one day.

venue. Sorry but you are acting as if all of the trouble is due to and/or
plays a part because the neighborhood that the venue is located in, That
is not the case, the neighborhood isnt bad compared to other major venues
within the city. YES during rusko some female was DENIED entry and then was
raped in the alley way a half a block away, that is an issue in the neighborhood, but that doesnt have anything to do with the venue. Go promote your shit some where else, you want the show to be at congress so you can gain money, and you do not care about the well being of Lorins fans at these shows, you just care about the money you might lose if he changes the venue. fuck you silver wrapper, you havent been on the scene long at all, i know when you started/when i heard about you, you do not promote the ‘scene’ nor are you part of the ‘scene’ so stay the fuck out and make money else where in the city.

He has confirmed that he will not be at Bonnaroo this year. Along with Summer Camp, Wakarusa, Hangout, and Sasquatch.

Electric Forest is the only confirmed summer festival so far.
