So Why no late night this year? You should play the vibe tent that would be amazing!

  • mazurbeam

fuck yea night set! totaly had to sneek into the barn last year..but yea so uhhhh…9:00-10:30 really means 9:00-12:00 right? RIGHT?!?

So my fiance and best friend are celebrating their 21st b-days @ Summer Camp. I was just wondering if there would be anyway you could tell them Happy Birthday during your set. We are all huge fans and have traveled all over the mid-west to see you as much as possible. Their names are Macy and Lane. They would be absolutely floored if you did and it would be the best birthday present ever! I tried emailing you to keep this a secret but keep getting emails in return saying that those addresses aren't checked very often so I'm gonna try this way and hopefully they don't check this blog.

I CANT WAIT!! Hahah once they see how crazy your crowd will be they will be forced to give ya a longer set. Im making the trek from Ann Arbor to see you womp Summercamp. Bless ya and keep up the amazing work. P.S. Please drop the LSD Remix!

I saw a website that stated you'll be playing Friday and Sunday at Summer Camp. This is true right? Right?! Otherwise I don't know if 1 1/2 hours will cut it until I get to see you again in August!

    • Hey Patricio!
      πŸ™‚
yah man that website is not telling you the full truth.
on sunday i will be in austin texas, either sitting outside thinking to myself “HOLY SHIT I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW LUCKY I AM TO BE ALIVE”, or sitting inside bil bless's music studio…probably thinking that same thought.

i shall not be though, as advertised, playing summer camp.

we are only playing once @ the summer camp 10 year anniversary…from 9-10:30 on friday night, closing out the stage…. i promise to give it my all and squeeze it for every drop of my favorite sounds as possible
      πŸ™‚

i also heard wierd rumors about bonaroo and all good, but just check our website here for the real deal, unless you kind of like the risk involved with rumor, in which case have FUN cuz the world is full of rumor

Thanks for responding Lorin! I had another question if you don't mind… πŸ™‚

I was wondering if you actually look at the request line part of your site. I had requested to hear anything by The Widdler. Although I know whatever the hell you decide to play for us will be fucking rawwww, it would make my whole weekend to hear a track by The Widdler. Thanks

        • widdlaaz got some jams fasho

        Hello Lorin,

I just wanna say that your an amazing DJ and thats super down to earth of you to sit here and talk to your fans, I honestly like you 200 times more now. … And as for your talent, you have really taken Ableton Live to the next level, I didn't even realize it could be used in the way you put most of your sets together. The camp bisco 7 set just totally blew me away with that slayer remix which was so on point.
Thank you for bringing good music back to life and unleashing the true power of dubstep through your mixes, you are truly a legend and I'm looking forward to seeing you at All Good this year!!! πŸ™‚

(Im driving from NC just to see your set on friday, i cant wait)

        • wowza! thanks for the kind words!

as for interacting, that is why i am here!! πŸ™‚ i fully intend to up the ante this year in terms of creating interactive space for creative interaction.

    heres an idea…

you should really push these web pages more as in turn them into mash-ups and pull in all kinds of contextual data…think of it as the profile/group of the show

    before/leading up to the show…………………………………………………………………
    -start twitter hashes
-and fetch the comments from twitter/fb ect and present them here
-create fb group? or tie into an already created (or multiple created) groups and pull in content from there
    -pull in content from fanpage
    -run competitions for tickets
-and of course offer a way to purchase tickets & packages (VIP ticket, cheap flights and hotel rooms?)

    during the show…………………………………………………………………………
-stream it live to the world with ustream, youtube, ect!!
-the tv and the radio (combined) can not touch the sheer volume of audience that the web can provide
-i dont care weather you put it behind a pay wall (charge $0.99cents to watch) or use ads..of offer some kind of monthly subscription its your performance and your right to monetize it
-the point is just tap into that $$$$
    -because:
-A your fans will love you even more for this
-B you'll make even more money
-C it will market the awesomeness of your phenomenal performances
-meaning i dont think it will negatively impact ticket sales (even if you stream every show) but you never know until you try. my business instincts tell me that it wont and that it will in fact market the awesomness of the show and you will sell even more tickets as a result πŸ˜‰ again would it hurt to try? just make sure to keep an eye on the data… you might see some VERY interesting results

    after the show…………………………………………………………………
-post all your own photos & fetch photos from (twit pic, flickr facebook) that were taken at the show and uploaded to the web
-post your own youtube videos, fetch youtube vids that fans took of the show
    -provide a detailed track-listing
-if you recorded the show (or streamed it) re-master it and then offer the performance up for re-distribution (for purchase to download or 99cents to stream)

at least thats what i would do πŸ˜‰

    • first off, you are a bad ass!
      thanks for sharing
      πŸ™‚

secondly, we have been (and continue to) trying to incorporate/aggregate/syndicate/synchronize all comment/reply scenarios into one spot

all the separate avenues drive me loco, i like to respond to everyone (when possible)

and i am ultra dedicated to facillitating conversation (ESPECIALLY about non-musical and non-entertainment issues, feelings, opinions)

but it isn't as easy as “pull in content from there” and if it is, please explain.

as for the shows, we won't stream them for a billion reasons, iv'e already detailed a thousand times but a short summary is:

      1. so much unreleased content
      2. so much non-licensed content
      3. so much live-show-only content
      4. as an artist i PREFER not to
      5. out of respect for the many homies who send me unreleased music, i gotta protect.
      etc

      GREAT ideas though!!!!!
