Keeping it Warm at Eugene’s McDonald Theatre on 2/4/10

February 1st, 2010

13

Bassnectar Labs is delighted to announce that we will be hosting a special clothing drive for Eugene’s Egan Warming Center.

Last year one of Eugene’s homeless neighbors, Major Egan, froze to death on the streets and a strong coalition of Eugene nonprofits decided he should be the last person to do so. February is actually the coldest month in Eugene, and people need ways to stay warm.

That’s where you and that coat that you haven’t worn all winter come in!

If you bring a good COAT or other substantial piece or pieces of warm clothing to the show, you will receive a FREE BASSNECTAR POSTER in exchange for your donation.

Please SPREAD THE WORD. This event can only be a success if you tell your friends!

Nice job Lorin! I'm from eugene and there's a pretty big unemployment problem here. Lots of people on the street and I myself have been one of those people for a time in my life. Its great to see that people care about these things. And that your conscious enough to be in a city for one day and still try to do something.

Also gratz on the show last night in eugene! Killer shit. Loved More Human than human. Any chances of a downloadable remix of that? It made my night.

    True Story…

So back in 2008 I checked myself into a rehab to develop the skills
needed to find reality more favorable. This place was and 2 to 3 years
program where you were not allowed to go out or have music. One night
in July of 2009 they sent a group of us out to clean up some venue as a
Therapeutic Exercise. I had no idea about what show we were going to.
All I knew was we were allowed to see the last hour of it for cleaning
it up. As we walked across the parking lot this bass emerged from the
darkness, I said “that's some sick bass , it sounds like Bassnectar.”

After 5 or so seconds I repeated ” that sounds like bassnectar, ” I ask
a passer by “what show is is?” He said “9.33's Big Gig.” my counselor
asked me “who is Basnectar?” to that I said “Like God in a Speaker “
Still not sure, once we got to the door you dropped your Beetles remix.
I turned to my counselor ripped of my name tag tossed it to him and
said “write this up ” I ran to the front row where it was my 7th time
seeing you, I always make the biggest deals out of your shows. Putting
forth every best effort to get there, once I even signed a black &
white photo of you and I and gave it to you on 3-15-08, dare to be
different”.That 2008 ticket stub ways the only one I brought to rehab.
For once it was amazing to be dragged somewhere with no expectations
and find myself in front row at your show. That night as you spun it
started to rain washing away so much more than debris. It was a moment
where my soul felt like the Universe, incapable of Error, was right on
    point.

Now that I'm out and 15 months straight edge
I'm driving with my best mate and brother Eeekay along with our lady friends, 500 miles round trip to Aspen to take part in the appreciations of your “sonic
    stylings.” ~Virtue & Valor~
