HEALTH & SAFETY

Into The Sun
We will be enjoying lovely weather in paradise, but PLEASE find ways of going Into The Shade. Always be wearing sunscreen and be sure to share sunscreen with one another. Ambassadors will also be walking around with misters, sunscreen, and aloe to help out (:

Hydrate
We say this alllllll the time: DRINK WATER! Drink lots and drink it regularly – staying hydrated can make the difference between a great vacation or a trip to the medics. There is no sense in messing around. Heat exhaustion is serious business. If you are drinking alcohol – drink some water in between every all-inclusive beverage! Water will be available FREE EVERYWHERE around the resort, and Ambassadors will be circulating with bottles as well. Water is delicious, and it makes an excellent gift to share with a new friend!

Know Your Limits
You know our feelings about health & safety already, so we’ll say it again for the people in the back: please be careful, and be smart! Do not take illegal drugs or chemicals and if you choose to drink, do so responsibly. Please look out for each other and make sure everyone is safe and happy. Don’t go overboard! Remember: Music Is The Drug, and we have plenty of it for you consume this weekend! Let’s all stay present, stay in the moment, and be aware of our bodies, minds, and spirits. The health and safety of you and the everyone around you is most important above all else.

Ear Safety
We have sound systems EVERYWHERE – we’ll have ear plugs everywhere also. The music will sound better with ear plugs, and it protects your hearing. If you can’t find them, visit The Haven and locate an Ambassador to ask them. We’ll also give you a pair when you check-in! The entire Bassnectar Crew wears hearing protection of some sort during all shows – we highly recommend!!!

Consent
You may have seen this message at one of our past shows, but here it is again:
No one is entitled to your body.
Respect and consent are required.
If you need an ally, find an Ambassador or go to the medics.

Lining up for the Beach Stage
Please note: lines for the Beach Stage open at 3:30pm, and the doors open at 5:00pm – we ask you to be respectful of these times and not show up any earlier. Overnight lines are not permitted – thanks for your understanding!

ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS, + MORE

The Haven, Activations, and Workshops
This is your getaway zone, a sanctuary inside the resort where you can chill out and take a break to recharge before getting back in the action. Ambassadors will be there to greet you with open arms. It’s also the hub for all our activations, workshops, and Ambassador community projects for the weekend! The Haven will double as the check in area for guests, so everyone learns where the Haven is when you arrive.

Carbon Offset
We love As a part of our sustainability efforts for Deja Voom, a portion of ticket sales will be used to purchase carbon offsets for every single round trip flight taken to the event!

The project we are contributing to is a wind energy center in Texas, helping in the transition from oil to clean power while creating jobs. This wind energy project creates no air or water pollution, and uses no water in power generation. Wind projects allow land to remain in agricultural use, while providing more income and growing the tax base for rural regions of our country. We are happy to contribute to the movement away from fossil fuels.

Be Interactive
Located in The Haven on Thursday, Be Interactive has gathered a group of amazing nonprofits + organizations that we support to come share their missions and how you can get involved!

> K’iin Beh: A group that provides a thorough and engaging education for local underserved and at-risk kids.
> Maya Environmental Educationa and Research Center: A local organization working to create bonds between Mayan communities and the rest of the world through environmental education, academic research, immersion trips, voluntourism and social responsibility actions toward reducing water and carbon footprint.
> CINDAQ: A local cave exploration and conservation organization. Using modern tech and science, these folks work to protect and document the incredible cenotes throughout the state of Quintana Roo. They aim to create models for sustainability that serve the long-term interests of citizens, and are replicable in other threatened areas.
> GVI: GVI is an international volunteer and intern abroad program with sustainable principles. They offer ocean conservation projects in the Tulum area and will focus on ocean conservation at our event.

Deja Voom School Supply Drive
The Bass Network and Be Interactive are organizing a backpack, book, and supply drive for a school in Riviera Maya – join us in giving to these students so they have the materials needed for a successful school year.

IMPORTANT TIDBITS + GUIDELINES

We want to be able to return to this resort in the future, so make a conscious effort to do the following:

> Take care of the rooms and the common areas as if they were your own.
> Clean up after yourself.
> Be kind, patient, and courteous to each other and the event staff.
> Treat other resort guests & staff with extreme kindness and respect.
> Respect and Consent are required, always.
> If you see something, say something.
> Drink water, drink water, drink water! And make sure your friends do too! All bars throughout the resort will be fully stocked all weekend long, as well as water stations in the concert areas – Ambassadors will be all around to help out pass out too, so stock up!
Although there will be many free bars with alcohol PLEASE be responsible and careful: pace yourself, and look out for each other. There will be so much intense stimulation and fun, you want to get plenty of sleep and healthy nourishment, and take conscious care of your body so you can enjoy yourself and stay as safe and healthy as possible!
> Get rest when/where you need to throughout the weekend. Naps, shady hammocks, poolside rest & relaxation will be everywhere, so please be smart and healthy.
> If you’re going to drink alcohol, please be extremely careful and responsible. Remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint – be mindful of your intake as alcohol can speed up dehydration. Kindly look out for others and work together as a big team to make sure everyone is as safe and healthy as possible.
> Meet new friends! This is going to be a next-level experience, so enjoy it with buddies new and old!
> If you or someone needs any help at all, find an Ambassador and/or ask flag down a member of the event staff, or security.
