first off, my friends just made a banger video to the VIVA TIBET which FreQ and i created for the cause… check it out!

Amy Goodman is about as good as they get! she was arrested and fucked with trying to cover the RNC, watch and support:

To tell you that this arrest was brutal and upsetting simply doesn’t do it justice. Watch this video to see for yourself. Then take action.

I just e-mailed the presidents of CNN and NBC News (which oversees MSNBC) to demand that their networks cover this important story. I hope you will too.

Please have a look and take action.

Copy and paste this whole link into yar browser, me hearties:

and now back to our regularly scheduled program:

thanks for the dusty memories, this past weekend was KOO-KOO, and im still eating canned tuna and tasty bites in honor of it. i have to say: NOTHING beats an outdoor sunrise set. thanks so much for all the love and support!

So this weekend in San Francisco, is, as every year, pure freaking carnage…one of the wildest freakshows annually, the Get Freaky afterburn is happening at 1015 Folsom on Friday night. See below for details but lineup includes Sebastian (Ed Banger) FreQ Nasty, Box Cutter, Dunkelbunt, and many more… 5 rooms of audio specialness and friendly people. Discount tickets are at and i have to say i think its silly to not buy them when they are right there, 5$ cheaper than the door price. Its always a line around the block come midnight, so beat the rush, come early and get wonky.

Details are below.

Saturday in Colorado, at the legendary RED ROCKS venue, playing alongside STS9 & Ghostland Observatory, it will be my first time perfroming at this venue, and i am SSOOOOOOO primed, as “Brown Note” sound systems is bringing in 50 (count em FIFTY!) 18 in subs (25 per side) for ultimate WOMP…the biggest sound system ever in this massive 10,000 person outdoor venue.

STS9 is doing 2 nights and we are capping it off on Saturday, i will be playing around 10pm… also someone mentioned something about some dope afterparty…

it will be my last time in lovely Colorado for a while, so come play in the sound waves and make the bass face BWOMPP!!!!!

You know Amy Goodman, one of the most TRUSTED names in the circulation of news and information, was wrongfully arrested while trying to cover the RNC.

this is wrong on its own, but more dangerous for the precedence it sets.

Stand up for the people who stand up for you

Sign a petition to have all charges dropped against Amy Goodman (Independent Journalist from Democracy Now). The first link is straight from Democracy Now’s site. They both are petitions to local and state gov’t officials offices in St. Paul MN to have all charges dropped against Amy Goodman and her associates.

The next link is from the freepress advocacy website. again, copy the whole bit of text, even if it wraps around to the second line:

you can make a difference right now.

first off, i hope you are all doing well enjoying the last days of summer. I came quite close to avoiding Burningman, which for all of its loveliness/passion/wildness/freakshowness really feels like a waste of resources, and a kind of uber-indulgence of luxury at a point when time/energy could perhaps be better spent. That said, i decided to go for a quick 2 day jaunt, in part becuase it is such an exquisite collection of people all in one place whom i want to connect with, and also despite my issues with the festival, there is and has been so much goodness as well, and i want to give back…throw down some music for all the heads who have supported me for so long.

Speaking of giving back, most of you probably know that Darin (FreQ Nasty) has been working full time on which is a tremendous gift of community service. if you have not checked it out yet, you should. We made a track together a few months back as a donation to the struggle of the Tibetan people, and we are asking for your support as well. THere is a click though banner on …you can get the music, the track, and sync in with Or you can go direct to

good tings.

So now for the Burningman 2008 schedule…most years i play 5 times a night, 5 or 6 nights in a row. NOT THIS TIME

THURSDAY NIGHT (technically friday morning)
12:30am @ Root Society

SATURDAY NIGHT (technically sunday morning)
2am @ NExus

5:30am @ Nexus

i have one insane freakout womp session THURSDAY NIGHT (technically friday morning) at Root Society. its probably the biggest sound system on the desert, and one of the few sets in the past year where i will just be DJing on CDs, cuz laptops and dust do not a happy couple make. So from the greatest hits bangers to new concoctions of full throttle madness, that is the spot.

Then on Saturday Night (technically sunday morning) i have an hour to go ballistic in the deep night; nexus has an air tight booth, so the laptop is in effect and i can get more insane on the layers and remixes.

After a few hours biking around in circles, i will come back on around 5:30am for a 2 our sunrise meltdown….as always SUPER EXCITED FOR THAT!!!

Sept 5th in SF @ 1015 Folsom for the annual Get Freaky
Sept 6th in Colorado @ Redrocks with STS9
Sept 13th in Socal @ the Ranchita Rocks Festival

…and after that we have a ridiculous road trip that runs nonstop until december. more info soon.

Much LOVE!

Holy To-leee-do!

feels like we been running full steam all year, but instead of taking the next 6 months off, we’re moving into HYPER DRIVE…. The theme of the fall tour is The Other Side, which amorphously plays on pretty much every topic you apply it to. I’m holding off on releasing another full length album until i have SOLID time at home in the labs to perfect every succulent square inch of it, so we are going to release a series of singles, EPs, and remix packs this fall, in coordination with the tour (which will sweep through just about everywhere)…as well as the 2008 election. Which at this point, i clearly favor Obama to McCain, but taking all affairs into consideration (from my frustrations with the 2 party system, to my disdain for the incorrigible Republican party, to my distrust and disapproval of the Democratic party, to even feeling let down by Obama’s swing to the right – evidenced in his suport of the FISA act which dropped my jaw as it shat on the constitution, and on everything he pretended to be in terms of a freedom fighter and a voice for the oppressed…instead siding with Big Goverment, Big Corporate, and that ridiculously ignorant American propoganda of trading in your Freedom for your Security..) so anyways, hopefully we will have a forum on the road for addressing issues as they evolve, always exploring The Other Side.

So, knowing Myspace, it will take 13 years to plug in all the data for fall dates, but ive listed them below and will see to it that they get added to the schedule asap.

For now, you can go to
there will be a freakshow of collaborators on different dates, including Fort Knox 5, Beats Antique, Seasunz & Allie Star, and some others i cannot name yet.
i’ll be changing things up from DJ sets, to live PA and live remixing, to showcasing and experimenting with new songs off the album and live works in progress, to some collaborative experiments, and also lots of throwbacks to the old record crates, digging out the long lost treasures, and combining them with the newness

in addition to Shambhala, The Greek Theatre & Red Rocks with STS9 this summer, we are toying with the idea of year 11 at Burningman, but thats a loaded concept, so for now,
here are some of the fall dates, early announce for the early birds:

cant wait to see you out there again, thanks for all the love this spring and summer!!!!

This next transmission is just a single track, unmixed, intended for (amongst other things) DJs who want a super charge full throttle explosion to add to their sets. While the Bassnectar scientists crank away in the labs working on new album material, we thought we might toss out a couple of bootlegs or something, so we’re starting with this.

A tribute to one of the major musical influences of the Bassnectar sound, this mash-up combines elements of Blue State Riddim’s beats and vocals (featuring Jahi) with one of metal’s most insane bangers ever. For whom the bass tolls is about uprising, and about defiance. it is a positive way of saying we will never forget what certain neo- conservative humans did over the last decade, even after they have left office, locked up their records in presidential libraries, blacked out all their crimes on paper, pardoned each other, siphoned the wealth of the middle class into their defense contractors and other corporate crony cash deposits. Even if the major media that they own and control tries to rewrite history, and say they are good people, or maybe the media will just avoid the topics, and supply refuge, it is important to keep in mind that some heavy crimes have been committed, under the watch of Dick Cheney, George Bush, George W Bush, and so many others. We will not forget, and we will not forget about the wars they started, the people they killed, the economy they destroyed, the policies they passed, the torture they condoned, and the personal gain they enjoyed as a result of their crimes. Enjoy this music.
