PUSHING BUTTONS OR PUSHING BOUNDARIES
QUESTION: Hey Lorin – I’ve always wondered, and I think I speak for a lot of people when I ask this, but what exactly do you do on stage when you’re performing live? A lot of people argue that electronic music is nothing more than a DJ pushing buttons and that it takes “no skill.” I always tell them it is much more than that – obviously it takes skill to produce everything that you have, and I feel like your shows do in fact involve much more than just pressing play and pretending to mess with knobs, but could you please elaborate on how you actually do perform? I think that a lot of people are also curious. Keep spreading the word brotha!!! – kidonwheels

FAN BASS: MESSAGE & MAINSTREAM
Please get involved in the conversation in the comments below, or if you’d like to submit a question that could be answered in future Fan Bass posts, send it HERE. QUESTION: “You continue to make extremely raw, highly energetic, deliciously beautiful sounds and I love it, but I feel like the message of revolution is a little distant recently. I’m all about having songs on the other side of the coin, but we need to keep the fight alive and we need to educate all these fresh new fans that I love so much. I have no doubt you are still on point with it off the stage, but I personally believe a portion of it needs to be on the stage.” -innavibemusic717

Also, how much do you thrive off of your fans at a show? Thanks for all you do!” marie_02

FAN BASS: LEAKED MUSIC
QUESTION: What do you think about the people that leak and download your music (or any music) without paying? – anon ========================= This is in response to people who leak music, or people who download music without paying for it. It is also in response to people who BUY music, and to people who DO support the artists they love. And it is in response to those

Fan Bass: Passions & Careers
QUESTION: I recently had quite a scare and may not be able to attend the expensive private college I’ve worked really hard to get into. My mother asked me “what interests you in life, what do you like?” so that we could make a plan B, and all I could think was concerts. I LOVE light shows, Bassnectar’s in particular, and I always thought it was really interesting when we got a glimpse into the production of them in your tourcam videos. Where on earth would one go to develop a skill like that? The light shows at a Nectar concert are top notch and I’m curious as to how I could get trained and involved in such a thing. This is totally unrelated to anything, and i didn’t know where to post it so I put it here. Thank you! – anon
